Job Introduction
Maternity cover - 18 months
Notting Hill Genesis, one of London's largest Housing Associations, are looking for an inquisitive, firm but fair, professional prober with a penchant for asking questions. Perhaps you have a background in building safety or have experience conducting audits and inspections. You may be an all-round ‘technical whiz’. You’ll use your skill set to make sure that we do what we say we will, keeping our residents safe and putting them at the centre of everything that we do.
Competency is important to us for this maternity cover, as we need you to be confident from day one. As such, we'll need you to have a technical qualification in a building or building safety related field.
A Diploma or Certificate in Building Safety Management would be highly desirable. We would also consider a qualification in fire safety (e.g. NEBOSH).
Main Responsibility
As a Building Safety Manager, you will manage a set number of high-rise buildings within a
specified patch in accordance with its Building Safety Case. You will secure the award of Building Assessment Certificates (required for occupation) by submitting Building Safety Cases to the Regulator according to prescribed parameters. In doing so, you will shield NHG
from criminal penalty.
The Building Safety Manager role is integral to the management of safety within our High-Rise Buildings. You will provide assurance not only to the Regulator, but also to our residents, ensuring that they both are and feel safe within their homes.
You can expect to be out and about for some of a typical week - conducting building audits, and engaging with our residents. You'll be in our office in Kings Cross for one or two days each week, working together with the other building safety managers, safety case developers and other teams across NHG to obtain the information you need.
The Ideal Candidate
We believe great service starts with great people, and we are committed to recruiting and developing passionate, enthusiastic, and talented individuals who can add value to our thriving organisation. You don’t need to have worked in housing before, you might just be starting out or you’ll be looking for a career change
