What you’ll do
As a Cleaning Contracts Officer, you’ll support the delivery of high‑quality cleaning and estate services across our housing portfolio. You’ll ensure that cleaning contracts, grounds maintenance, and associated services are delivered consistently, on time, and within agreed budgets, supporting a safe and welcoming environment for every resident.
The Cleaning Contracts Officer plays a key role in monitoring contractor performance, maintaining high service standards, and ensuring compliance with contract requirements and safety standards. Working across estates, housing services, and wider operational teams, the Cleaning Contracts Officer helps deliver value for money while improving services and resident satisfaction.
How you’ll do it
- Monitor contractor performance across cleaning, waste management, and estate services, ensuring delivery meets agreed standards and contractual requirements.
- Carry out site inspections and audits, including health and safety checks, to ensure compliance and a consistently high‑quality service.
- Manage contractor performance through data, reporting, and regular reviews to drive improvements and maintain service standards.
- Act as a key point of contact for residents and stakeholders, responding to queries and providing advice on cleaning and estate services.
- Support contract management activities, including re‑tendering processes and ensuring contractors meet accreditation and compliance standards.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to deliver value for money, continuous improvement, and a positive resident experience.
- Ensure services such as bulk waste removal and playground inspections meet legislative and organisational requirements.

Essential:
- Knowledge of the relevant legislative framework for cleaning and associated works and a proven ability to manage risk and understand the impact for the wider business, ensuring that all policies and procedures are adhered to so that consistent and standard practice is achieved across the organisation
- Previous experience of contract management and driving performance.
- Detailed knowledge of health and safety requirements linked to the delivery of cleaning and manual services
- Demonstrable experience in the cleaning or associated sector
- Proven experience and ability to deliver excellent customer care and valuing diversity
Hybrid arrangements – at least two days a week in our on our estates and likely two days in an office working with others. Depending on work and interactions required working from home may be possible one day a week.
