Job Introduction

We are hiring an Contract Officer to join our small Asbestos Team.

We are looking for a Contracts Officer to join our busy Asbestos Team and work mainly on managing the asbestos contracts for asbestos surveys and removals etc. You will be working directly with contractors such as Life Environmental and KCS Group and will lead on meetings.  This is an exciting opportunity to learn all about the various asbestos components, also managing the day to day jobs that are raised on Shine Vision (asbestos register) by the business and ensuring that the business is updated on progress and completion whilst maintaining compliance. Stakeholder management is key in this role and you will be working closely across the various tenures.

This role will be based in our Kings Cross office for 3 days of the week and the remaining two days you will be expected to work from home although that may be flexible and subject to change.

Main Responsibility

As a Contract Officer, you will provide admin support to the Asbestos Manager. You will be expected to arrange asbestos surveys to our housing stock prior to any maintenance works, arrange asbestos removals, take minutes at contract meetings and most importantly prioritise and organise your workload with minimum supervision. We’re a people business, and our residents are at the heart of everything we do, so you will need to be a confident and effective communicator.

In addition, you will also provide support to the business to ensure we are compliant with CAR 2012 (Control of Asbestos at Works Regulation 2012) and that our communal asbestos programme and asbestos re-inspection programmes are compliant and meet regulation requirements.  The successful candidate will be provided with the necessary training in order to carry out their duties effectively. It’s a highly varied and rewarding role where you will be able to see the impact of your work in person and whilst building meaningful relationships and collaborating with your colleagues across several departments.

The Ideal Candidate
