We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our growing Software Engineering Team. 
You will be responsible to integrate and automate the processes for software development using several technologies and ensure efficient and continuous delivery of software products that meet evolving business requirements of the organisation.
 
How you’ll do it

  • Implement scalable infrastructure solutions to handle varying workloads efficiently.
  • Define and provision infrastructure through code using a number of tools to automate the process.
  • Manage multiple environments ensuring they are consistent, secure and up to date.
  • Develop, maintain and optimise CI/CD pipelines and integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to ensure code quality and reliability.
  • Implement monitoring solutions to monitor performance and set up alerts to detect and respond to issues proactively.
  • Implement security measures and best practices including network security, identity management and data protection and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Implement and manage backup strategies to ensure data protection and recovery.
  • Develop and test disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity.
  • Optimise system performance and resource utilisation to ensure cost-effective and efficient operations.

Pending confirmation of legislative changes, this role may require a qualification to demonstrate competence. If not already qualified, there may be an expectation to study towards a professional qualification.
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in either computer science/Information Systems or equivalent experience
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in agile methodologies including Scrum or Kanban.
  • Experience with Azure core services such as Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Integration Services, Azure AI services and Azure Data Services
  • Working knowledge of Azure networking components such as Virtual Networks, Load Balances, VPN Gateways and Traffic Manager.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as PowerShell, C#, Python, or JavaScript for automating tasks and managing Azure resources.
  • Working knowledge of managing databases in Azure including Azure Storage, Azure SQL Database, Cosmos DB and using data migration tools.
  • Experience setting up CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or similar tools to automate deployments and monitoring.
  • In depth knowledge of using Azure resources Management (ARM) templates, Azure Bicep or Terraform to provision infrastructure through code.
  • Experience of utilizing Azure Monitor, Azure Log Analytics and Application Insights to monitor application performance and troubleshoot issues.
  • Experience of version control systems such as Git for managing codebase and collaborative development.
