Domestic Heating Inspector

Job Introduction

What you’ll do 

You will assist the heating and hot water team to deliver exceptional service and compliance. You will offer technical expertise to the NHG delivery officers and ensure we offer the best outcomes.

You will support the contract management of installation, maintenance, and effective operation of domestic heating equipment

You will work closely with our consultants and contractors to deliver an exceptional service and build upon the reputation NHG has built within the industry.

How you’ll do it

You will assist in the contract management of our domestic heating contractors by offering technical advise and visits 

You will carry out audits on:

  1. Works carried out on domestic heating systems.
  2. Commissioning.
  3. Domestic gas safety checks.
  4. Boiler services. 

This role will be an integral component to ensure NHG meets its landlord responsibilities. You will attend all contract meetings, core groups and regular contract catch ups offering insight into your findings, tenant interactions and suggested improvements.     

The ideal candidate

You will have at least 10 years experience of heating industry experience. You will bring knowledge, practicality and technical expertise to the domestic heating team and offer advise to our housing teams. You will be able to read and understand technical specification and ensure our contractors are delivering our requirements

You will be able to articulate any issues or praise in a contract meeting environment. You will be able to ensure issues are followed up and tracked to completion while maintaining our high standards.

The ideal candidate must be willing to stay up to date with the latest techniques and technologies and be able to source other industry experts when required. Candidates must be agile, and able to react in a ever changing environment          

. Essential:

  • Be confident and experienced in using a laptop/ tablet including inputting and uploading data. 
  • Have valid Domestic Gas Qualifications - CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1, (Minimum six months remaining prior to renewal of certification).
  • Previous experience in a service and maintenance environment
  • Full driving license 
  • Excellent verbal communication skills. 
  • Experience of writing reports and collecting all relevant data and presenting it in a way everyone can understand.  
  • Competent with Microsoft office, power point, excel.

Desirable:

  • Relevant Auditor qualification (D32/A1) or equivalent would be a desirable addition.
  • 18th edition 
  • Housing association or local authority experience 

As part of the role, an electric van will be provided or associated costs covered, along with a fuel card for business use, supporting both your mobility and our commitment to sustainability.
