Job Introduction
What you’ll do
You will provide strategic and operational leadership to ensure the delivery of a consistent, reliable, customer focused MI and financial control for all NHG development activities and manage the financial implications of the development programme.
As a senior member of the Finance team, you will drive a customer centric ethos and continuous improvement culture within our Finance team, ensuring all finance services deliver the best outcomes for our residents
How you’ll do it
• Effective business partnering for portfolio reporting of all existing property assets
• Ensuring that there is robust financial process, modeling and reporting in place to support the development and regeneration programme and associated opportunities.
• Oversight of the progress of the development programme, including an understanding of the financial arrangements of the key schemes in the portfolio.
• Insightful and value adding services on planned investment on existing homes delivery of the asset strategy
• Appraise revenue-based projects on behalf of the Assets directorate including carrying out regular impairment reviews of all completed housing and Investment assets.
• Strategic capitalisation of development overheads and partnering with development colleagues on any under and over absorption of overheads Responsible for NHG's Asset • Register including grant amortization and depreciation accounting and all activities related to the audit and annual return
• Responsible for all regulatory returns relating to Assets and NHG's development programme
• Regularly review system controls and workflows to maintain integrity of activities
• Manage and mentor the Capital & Asset Reporting team fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.

In addition, you will need the following:
• Hold a CCAB recognised accounting qualification with supporting CPD.
• Be a confident and experienced role model and leader, ensuring you reflect the values of the organisation.
• Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) with the ability to engage effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders and collaborate with others.
• Capability for strategic thinking and ability to analyse complex data, review alternative solutions, and reach speedy, data driven conclusions.
• Significant experience in the recording of capital and repairs related accounting transactions for an organisation of significant complexity.
• Experience working on large, complex, asset driven development programmes
• Ability to provide expert technical accounting advice to different parts of the business.
• Highly skilled in developing and overseeing internal controls (including finance systems), financial policies, and compliance mechanisms, ensuring these evolve with organisational needs and external regulations
• Uphold ethical principles including integrity, objectivity, professional competence, confidentiality, and professional behaviour
