Head of Operations and Security

Job Introduction

Are you a driven technology leader who thrives on ensuring systems run smoothly and securely?

At Notting Hill Genesis, we’re looking for a Head of Operations and Security to lead our technology operations and cyber resilience. This is a pivotal role at the heart of our digital transformation — where your expertise will protect, enable, and enhance the services that thousands of residents rely on every day. If you’re passionate about operational excellence, cloud innovation, and building a culture of proactive security, we’d love to hear from you.

What you’ll do

Working across IS&C and reporting to the Director of Product Engineering, as the Head of Operations and Security you will lead the teams responsible for the stability, security, and operations of our technology products and platforms. You’ll ensure our systems are reliable, our data is protected, and our users are supported — all while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence across the organisation.

You’ll work closely with colleagues across IS&C and our external partners to deliver cost-effective, secure, and high-performing technology environments that underpin the success of Notting Hill Genesis (NHG).

How you’ll do it

  • Build, grow, and lead a group of operations, transition, and security specialists with a shared mindset and purpose.
  • Provide change, support, and maintenance capabilities for our infrastructure, cybersecurity portfolio, and productivity tools.
  • Oversee partners and vendors to ensure effective service delivery, governance, and operational performance across cloud and on-premise environments.
  • Set the standards for transitioning change into production, ensuring that all releases are stable, secure, and compliant.
  • Manage product and technology roadmaps in line with our strategic and operational goals.
  • Lead the security, compliance, and risk teams — ensuring constant evaluation and evolution of our protection in response to current and emerging threats.
  • Own and manage audits, penetration tests, incident response, risk registers, and compliance with frameworks such as ISO27001, NIST, and MITRE.
  • Collaborate with the DevSecOps function and wider IS&C teams to ensure a unified approach to security and operations.
  • Continually evaluate and optimise our processes and tooling to drive operational excellence and resilience.

Hybrid working – at least three days a week in our main office.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the reliability and performance of NHG’s operational technology platforms.
  • Protect our systems and data by implementing robust cybersecurity measures and proactive risk management.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, resilience, and continual improvement.
