What you’ll do
Notting Hill Genesis has a fantastic opportunity for a Housing Assistant Night Cover (HANC) to join our team at Hamilton court, which is based in Chelmsford, Essex. 

Hamilton Court is a Sheltered Housing scheme, and the HANC will be based there to support our tenants during the night between the hours of 8.00pm to 8.00am. This is a 42 hour per week job.

How you’ll do it
  • To support the housing team at Hamilton Court with the smooth running of the scheme. 
  • To support the residents with any emergencies whilst on duty and to ensure that the building is safe and secure. 
  • To assist with any health & safety checks that may need to be carried out on a regular basis.
  • To undertake regular routine inspections of the premises, to check safety and security of the premises and customers in line with the requirements of the service.
  • Be responsible for the health and safety and fire safety requirements of the service and premises.
  • To give handover to incoming staff so that any ongoing issues can be dealt with swiftly.

Essential:

  • .Working in an environment where you have needed to respond to crisis situations.
  • Using own initiative to solve problems
  • Reporting appropriately and in a timely manner to managers 
  • IT skills 
Desirable:

  • .Providing services to customers with care and/or support needs
  • Knowledge and understanding of health and safety practice in residential settings
  • Working knowledge of older people customer group
