Resident Safety Support Engagement Officer

Job Introduction

What you’ll do

As a Resident Safety Engagement Officer, you will play a vital role in keeping residents safe in their homes by ensuring those living in higher‑ and medium‑risk buildings are supported appropriately. You’ll proactively engage with residents to identify anyone who may need additional assistance to evacuate their building in an emergency and ensure the right support plans can be put in place.

This is a highly visible, people‑focused role where you’ll spend time in buildings and communities, speaking directly with residents, attending events, and working closely with internal teams and external partners to deliver clear, accessible safety information.

How you’ll do it

  • Deliver a campaign of resident safety engagement activities to identify residents with service adjustments in high‑ and medium‑rise buildings.
  • Visit buildings in scope of residential PEEPs regulations, aiming over time to engage with every resident.
  • Engage with residents through door‑knocking, meetings, community events and other accessible communication methods.
  • Provide two‑way, inclusive engagement using residents’ preferred communication methods.
  • Work collaboratively with NHG teams to coordinate safety messaging and maximise the impact of resident visits.
  • Liaise with external partners, including fire and rescue community safety teams and external managing agents.
  • Manage workload digitally using CRM systems, ensuring accurate records of engagement and visits.
  • Handle sensitive resident information responsibly, in line with GDPR and safeguarding requirements.
  • Support the Resident Safety Support Manager and wider Homes teams as required.
