Job Introduction
We’re looking for a dynamic individual to join our team as a Senior Project Manager- Building Safety Remediation to lead on the remediation of buildings that have known fire safety defects. You’ll be responsible for a team of project managers and will ensure work is completed on time, to budget and mostly importantly, ensures safety for our residents. This is a challenging but rewarding role where you’ll make a real difference for our residents and organisation.
We have undertaken a vast number of technical surveys across our stock and now understand where we have issues to fix. With a number of projects already live on site, and more in the pre- construction period, our pipeline of work is well defined.
You will work closely with your Project Managers, Head of Building Safety Remediation and technical consultants to be clear on the programme of works and ensure that plans are in place to communicate effectively with residents and colleagues to explain the processes that will be followed, likely timescales, actions and risks. With a keen eye for reporting you’ll ensure that your team maintains up to date and accurate information across our projects.

This includes representing us in discussions with resident associations and councillors where building safety defects are being managed.
Main Responsibility
You will be managing remediation projects; delivering on cost, time and quality targets whilst also ensuring our residents are at the heart of what we do. You will be responsible for managing a team of 3 project managers.
- Project management of complex remediation projects, this may also include direct project management of individual projects.
- Leading a team of project managers to ensure project management and remediation projects are delivered to NHG objectives.
- Using your expertise to identify and manage risks to projects appropriately.
- Lead and implement communication strategies for projects including resident consultation.
- Monitor projects within your teams’ pipeline to ensure project milestones are met along with KPI targets.
- Carry out effective budget management and financial reporting for projects in your team. Using Pamwin to do this for each project.
- Ensure procurement of contractors and consultants is completed in line with NHG financial regulations and procedures.
- Engage with contractors on settlement of matters, including legal settlements to protect NHGs position both financially and reputationally.
- Prepare reports for management and wider business use as required, this may relate to individual projects or the pipeline.
- Reporting progress to the business in general and formally at internal approval groups.
- Ensuring that NHG meets all legislative and regulatory requirements for our buildings.
- Responsible for the quality of the remediation work undertaken to ensure that we can demonstrate that buildings are safe.

Mandatory
· Experience of delivering successful commercial outcomes from negotiations with consultants and contractors.
· Experience in the management and delivery of complex projects in the built environment.
· Experience in managing and motivating multi- disciplinary teams of external consultants and contractors.
· A solid understanding of the operating environment linked to building safety, including (but not limited to), The Building Safety Act 2022 and the Fire Safety Act 2021.
Desirable
· Project management qualification such as APMP, Prince 2 etc or relevant experience.
