What you’ll do

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our growing Software Engineering Team. Working in an agile way, you will play a critical role in the development, maintenance, and enhancement of software systems, and enable the organisation to streamline business processes, improve operational efficiency and drive business growth to ultimately provide a quality service to our residents.
How you’ll do it
- Understand and analyse user requirements and transform them into technical specifications.
- Design and implement software solutions and adopt design patterns that ensure that the system is robust, scalable, secure, and maintainable as well as maintaining data integrity when communicating between different software modules.
- Write clean, efficient and maintainable code in various programming languages.
- Write unit tests, integration tests and end-to-end tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
- Identify, diagnose and fix software defects and performance issues using logging and monitoring tools to identify issues.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to standards and best practices are maintained.
- Implement middleware solutions and REST APIs to integrate with other systems to enable seamless data integrations.
- Estimate time requirements for tasks and manage timelines effectively.
- Document technical designs, code, APIs and configurations of software solutions and maintain documentation to facilitate knowledge transfer and support ongoing maintenance and enhancements.
- Implement security controls and access management mechanisms to protect software from vulnerabilities and attack exposure. Ensure that the software adheres to relevant security standards and regulations.

The successful candidate will have experience and knowledge of the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in either computer science/Information Systems or equivalent experience
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience in agile methodologies including Scrum or Kanban.
- Experience developing and deploying applications in a cloud environment specifically using Microsoft Azure
- Hands on experience with integration technologies using Azure Integration services (e.g. Azure App Service, Azure Functions, Azure Logic Apps, Azure API Manager)
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C#, Python, JavaScript
- Understanding of front-end technologies such as JavaScript, ReactJS, HTML5, CSS
- Working knowledge of databases in Azure including Azure SQL Database, Cosmos DB and using Azure data services for data manipulation and reporting.
- Knowledge of Azure AI services
- Experience of deploying solutions through CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or similar tools to automate deployments and monitoring.
