Main Responsibility
What you will be doing
NHG Building Surveyor workload is mainly generated from case enquiries that our partners such as housing officers and property managers create. You will work closely with allocated teams to deliver a more personalised customer focused service, building good relationships and being on hand to provide advice. Day to day activities will include arranging appointments with residents and contractors, undertaking property inspections and producing work specifications, creating purchase orders on different platforms, instructing contractors, agreeing costs, overseeing repairs until completions, signing off repairs, paying contractors.
We operate a hybrid style of working and this role will require you to spend a minimum of 3 days working onsite/in the office.
The Ideal Candidate
As one of the largest providers of social housing in London we are in the process of making changes to improve how we deliver services so that we can focus on the issues that matter most to our residents.
We are looking for both experienced building surveyors and graduates that can work independently whilst also working alongside more experienced Surveyors to develop their knowledge and understanding of how to deliver a building surveyor service in social housing.
You’ll be a confident communicator who is comfortable explaining recommendations to colleagues and residents verbally and in detailed technical reports. .You’ll collaborate within your team, with colleagues right across our organisation, and with external third parties to ensure we provide good quality homes that enable our residents to live their lives well.
You will need to be flexible with change and able to use different IT systems to carry out your day to day tasks.
You will be expected to mentor and provide support and guidance to Asset Inspectors sharing your experiences and knowledge.
