The EDI & Wellbeing Specialist plays an important role in delivering this ambition. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about fairness, inclusion and wellbeing, and who enjoys working collaboratively to turn insight into meaningful action that improves colleague experience across the organisation. 

What the role is all about 

As an EDI & Wellbeing Specialist, reporting to the Head of EDI, you will support the delivery of NHG’s equality, diversity, inclusion and wellbeing priorities. You’ll help coordinate initiatives, events and campaigns that strengthen our culture, embed inclusive practice and promote positive colleague wellbeing across NHG. 

You’ll work closely with colleague networks, mental health first aiders and teams across all directorates, ensuring inclusion and wellbeing are not standalone activities but are embedded into how NHG operates day to day. 

Although the role sits within People Development, you’ll build strong working relationships across the organisation, supporting leaders and teams to engage confidently with EDI and wellbeing priorities in a practical, accessible and valuesled way. 

How you’ll make a difference 

You’ll help strengthen NHG’s culture and colleague experience by: 

  • Supporting the delivery of EDI and wellbeing initiatives that build understanding, engagement and inclusion
  • Ensuring events, campaigns and colleagueled activity are well coordinated, impactful and aligned to NHG’s values
  • Helping turn engagement, EDI and wellbeing insights into practical actions that improve everyday experience for colleagues
  • Supporting inclusive decisionmaking by contributing to policy review and impact assessments
  • Enabling colleague networks and wellbeing champions to contribute effectively and have their voices heard
  • Your impact will be seen in stronger engagement, improved inclusion practices and a culture where colleagues feel supported ,informed and able to thrive.

How you’ll do it 

You’ll work collaboratively across NHG to support inclusion, wellbeing and engagement activity that aligns with organisational priorities. This will include: 

  • Supporting the delivery of NHG’s EDI and wellbeing plans, coordinating activity that strengthens inclusion and colleague wellbeing
  • Coordinating and promoting EDI and wellbeing events, campaigns and awareness activity
  • Working closely with colleague networks, mental health first aiders and community groups to support their activity and capture insight
  • Helping source, design and deliver EDI and wellbeing initiatives, including learning sessions, materials and communications
  • Supporting inclusive practice by coordinating resources and providing practical guidance aligned to NHG’s values
  • Supporting engagement and employee listening activity, helping gather and interpret insight that informs action
  • Working with the Head of EDI and Data & Insight colleagues to help analyse engagement and EDI data and identify themes
  • Supporting the communication of engagement and EDI findings, ensuring colleagues understand outcomes and next steps
  • Assisting with policy review through an inclusion and wellbeing lens
  • Supporting the coordination of Diversity, Inclusion and Impact Assessments (DIIAs) to ensure potential impacts are identified and addressed
  • Helping track and maintain compliance with organisational EDI and wellbeing expectations
  • Contributing to continuous improvement by gathering feedback and evidence to inform future priorities
  • You’ll work closely with colleagues across Learning & Development and Talent & Performance to ensure EDI and wellbeing activity is aligned with wider People Development priorities and delivers a consistent colleague experience.

All about you 

Essential 

  • Experience supporting equality, diversity, inclusion and wellbeing activity within a complex organisation
  • Experience coordinating events, campaigns or engagement activity
  • Ability to use data, feedback and insight to help shape recommendations and support action planning
  • Experience working with colleague networks, community groups or similar forums
  • Strong relationshipbuilding skills, with confidence engaging colleagues at all levels
  • Clear, confident communication skills, with the ability to translate insight into practical actions
  • Organised, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities
  • A strong personal commitment to fairness, inclusion, wellbeing and positive colleague experience

Qualifications 

  • Relevant experience in EDI, wellbeing, HR, organisational development or a related discipline
  • CIPD or equivalent experience is desirable but not essential (or willingness to work towards this in due course)
