Job Introduction
Welcome
Thank you for your interest in joining the People Directorate at Notting Hill Genesis.
This is an exciting time to join NHG. Our People function is evolving to become more confident, proactive and insight‑led, working in close partnership with leaders to build capability, strengthen performance and support the delivery of great outcomes for residents.
People Development sits at the heart of our People Strategy. Our work focuses on building the skills, leadership capability and confidence colleagues need to succeed—now and in the future. We play a central role in shaping NHG’s culture, leadership approach and ways of working, supporting a consistent, values‑led colleague experience across the organisation.
The Learning Experience Designer plays an important role in this ambition. You will design high‑quality, engaging and accessible learning solutions that help colleagues build capability, meet compliance and competence requirements, and deliver excellent, resident‑focused services.
What the role is all about
As Learning Experience Designer, reporting to the Learning Design & Systems Manager, you will design and develop high‑quality digital, blended and face‑to‑face learning solutions that build capability across NHG.
You will work closely with colleagues across People Development and with operational subject‑matter experts to translate capability, behavioural and compliance needs into clear, engaging and well‑structured learning content. Your work will support performance, induction, talent, equality and wellbeing priorities, and ensure learning reflects NHG’s values and standards.
How you’ll make a difference
You will strengthen colleague capability and performance by:

- Contributing to a scalable, sustainable and high‑quality learning offer across the organisation
Your impact will be seen through improved learner experience, stronger capability, clearer understanding of expectations and more confident colleagues.
How you’ll do it
- Design and develop digital, blended and face‑to‑face learning using tools such as Articulate 360 (Storyline and Rise), Adobe Captivate, PowerPoint and other multimedia platforms
- Create storyboards, scripts, facilitator materials, workbooks, toolkits, intranet pages and learning resources that translate requirements into structured learning journeys
- Apply strong instructional design, adult‑learning and user‑experience (UX) principles to ensure learning is engaging, accessible and effective
- Work closely with L&D Partners, Talent & Performance, Early Careers & Apprenticeships, EDI & Wellbeing, Orientation & Induction and HRBPs to understand capability needs
- Collaborate with operational subject‑matter experts to gather accurate technical and service‑specific content
- Work with the Learning Design & Systems Manager to prioritise work, maintain design consistency and support continuous improvement
- Partner with the Learning Systems Specialist to ensure digital learning is optimised for deployment through the LMS
- Test, refine and improve learning content using feedback, learner insight and data
- Maintain high design, accessibility and quality standards across all learning materials
